Natural Stone Quartzite Kitchen

Natural Stone

Natural stone countertops give your kitchen an attractive look and are durable, long-lasting, and easy to maintain. They enhance the look of and increase the functionality of any kitchen. They’re easy to clean and are scratch and heat resistant. Although they resist staining, they are porous and can be stained if liquid is left sitting. Every slab of natural stone mined from the earth is unique with its own beautiful design and patterns. At Mogastone we offer many natural stone materials such as granite, marble, quartzite, dolomite, and more. Check out our live inventory and also our material pages which are located below.

Quartz and Porcelain

Quartz or engineered stone is man-made stone engineered in a factory instead of being mined. Quartz is made of crushed quartz crystals bounded together by an adhesive. Porcelain, on the other hand, is made with ceramic clay and mineral coloring and then is put into a kiln at extremely high temperatures. Unlike some natural stones, quartz and porcelain are both very durable and scratch resistant. Because they are non-porous materials, they resist staining and don’t absorb in liquids as natural stones do. Porcelain is also very heat resistant whereas quartz isn’t since it can easily be burned by hot pans. With today’s technology, they can look just like natural stone, so you can have both the look of natural stone and the benefits of engineered stone.
