Dolomite Kitchen

What is Dolomite?

Dolomite is a sedimentary rock that was formed on the surface of the earth. It is slightly harder than marble but softer than granite and quartzite. Dolomite is a very durable natural stone and is also resistant to heat and wear and tear. It also usually has a white or light-gray base color.

Each slab is distinctive and has its own veining that cannot be reproduced due to its uniqueness as a natural stone. Although it is not as available or popular as other stones, it’s still an excellent stone for your kitchen countertops.

Care for Dolomite

Although dolomite isn’t as durable as granite and quartzite, it’s more durable than marble and other non-stone countertop materials. It’s a natural stone and does need to be sealed periodically. Dolomite is heat-resistant and long lasting. To keep it in good shape, make sure to seal it often and to not leave spills to seep into the stone.
