Marble Kitchen and Bath Countertops
With it’s beautiful, luxurious veining, no other stone can beat the look of marble in your kitchen.
What is Marble?
Marble is a natural stone that has been used as a building material for thousands of years. It’s a metamorphic rock that comes in many different colors and styles. After the marble is cut into slabs and is polished, the marble slabs gain a glossy shine on its surface which is very appealing. One thing marble is known for is having very unique veining and colors, some that cannot ever be matched. Although it’s a beautiful stone, it needs more maintenance than almost any other stone.
Why Use Marble?
Marble is a wonderful stone to use in a kitchen since it has a very appealing look. The natural veining of marble attracts many people’s attention. If you want the look of marble, and you’re up for the maintenance that it requires, then marble is a great choice for you.
Consider adding a marble full backsplash which will create a seamless, custom look. Check out our blog to learn more about adding a full backsplash.

Caring for Marble Countertops
Although marble looks great, it’s a high-maintenance countertop. It needs to be sealed very often since it’s a very porous stone. It’s heat resistant, but it’s still recommended to put a towel underneath a burning pot. When spills occur, they must be cleaned immediately since the porous stone will absorb the liquid and make a stain. We recommend that you use a cutting board vs cutting directly on the stone if you’re using metal or glass knives. Also never sit or stand on the stone since it can crack easily.
